More than half of Americans, 55%, are likely to look for a new job in the next 12 months, according to a survey from Bankrate that polled 2,452 adults in the US.

The younger generations were more likely to look for a new job, with 63% of millennials and 77% of Gen Z members planning to do so.

Bankrate’s survey found that 28% of respondents of all generations who are currently employed and not in a job search plan to seek a new job. And those with lower incomes tend to expect to be in the job hunt; Bankrate noted 67% of those with a household income of $40,000 a year or less planned to seek a new job.

For those seeking work, 56% said flexibility in working hour and/or the ability to work remotely is important to them. Flexibility was important to 62% of Gen Z while only 47% of baby boomers cited it. The desire for flexibility was higher for those with bigger incomes (61% of households earning $80,000 or more), women (60% vs. 53% of men) and those with more education (66% of those with a four-year degree or more vs. 51% of those with a two-year degree or less).

Other qualities that job seekers say are important to them include higher pay, with 53% citing this; job security, 47%; more time off/vacation pay, 35%; and better or more inclusive work culture, 24%.

The survey took place from July 28 through July 30.
